Send In The Clowns

We took Edward to his first Circus (Shrine Circus) today. He absolutely loved it. He adored the clowns. We had a blast.

Paging Dr. Edward

Edward was pretending yesterday to be an astronaut (we had bought him a space suit last year at the fair from the local Cosmosphere), he wore the costume all afternoon, we had to convince him to take it off for bed last night (note that was night 5 in a row of sleeping in his own bed in his own room). About 20 minutes ago Edward came up to me with his doctor stuff. He informed me that I have a broken tummy ache. I proceeded to ask him all kinds of questions like where did he get his PHD at (he informed me at Burger King), if I needed to have a surgery, how long I had to keep my bandage on (the rest of my days he said). He said he was putting me to bed for all days. What an imagination.

Edwards Day

WOW! Edward was an eating machine today. He just doesn't seem to be able to satisfy his hunger. He must be going through a growing spurt....he needs to go through one. He has been hyper today, almost out of control at points. I asked him in Kindermusik class this morning to turn down his hyper-activity level just a smidge, he looked right at me and told me the dial was stuck. LOL!!! Where does he get this stuff? We have bowling tonight, hopefully he will be able to get some of this energy used. I think part of it is the weather that and daddy had to be out of town overnight last night....he tends to push things a little bit more with me when Daddy isn't here. I think it is because he misses his daddy so much during the day, that he looks forward to daddy coming home after work and when he doesn't for some reason it really seems to effect Edwards mood. Daddy will be home tonight but tired (had a very long day yesterday), so Edward might not get that Daddy attention he is craving until tomorrow after Daddy has had a chance to rest.

Evicted!!!

As some of you know we have been pretty much co-sleeping with Edward since he was born. I had had him in his own bed around 18 months, but after Kirk had his accident he brought Edward back into our bed because he could only sleep if his family was close by. Well Edward has pretty much been in our bed ever since. When we moved to this house and got him a Thomas The Tank Engine Toddler Bed, he slept in it for almost a month...then bounced right back into our bed. No matter what amount of bribing, types of encouragement and incentives that were given he refused to go back to sleeping in his own bed on a regular basis. I finally put my foot down and this past Monday evicted him from our bed. I have made it very clear to him that he was getting to be a big boy and big boys sleep in their own beds. We have started a new routine with him....he gets to come to our room before lights out and we read him a couple of stories, then I put him in his room in his bed. I turn on his lullabye music (unfortuantly his Lighting McQueen CD Radio doesnt have continous play on it) and let it play while I lay in his bed with him until he falls asleep. He has slept all through the night in his own bed the last few nights. We praise him in the morning for sleeping in his own bed and tell him what a big boy he is. Now it is not like if he were sick or got scared from a nightmare or something that we wouldn't allow him to sleep with us one or two nights but he needs to be sleeping in his own bed on a regular basis from now on. I will also be quiting slowly using a technique I saw on SuperNanny, laying in his bed with him to get him to sleep. I will work on that with him after his birthday, once Nana goes home. He should be comfortable and use to by then with sleeping in his own bed.

Another Edward Funny

Kirk took Edward to see Meet the Robinson's this past Saturday while I hid Easter Eggs and put together Easter Baskets. I guess there was a preview of a new movie coming out soon about Under Dog (an old cartoon some of us old foogies might remember from when we were kids). Anyway, Edward gets home....puts a leash on Storm, taking her outside....telling her to "Come On Super Dog!" Well he did this every day until yesterday. Yesterday he puts the leash on her and says "Come On Pyscho Dog!". I said to him "What did you just call her Edward?" He says, smiling at me "Pyscho Dog". I asked him "Where did you hear that at Edward?" He says to me, smiling again "You, Mommy!" Kids!!!

What He Should Have Worn for Easter

Due to extremely abnormal freezing temps on Easter, Edward was unable to wear the outfit that I had bought him for Easter (seen below in the pictures), he had to wear Jeans with a short sleeve yellow (with blue and white stripes) polo shirt, and a coat to church for Easter morning. Crazy weather!!!

Finding the Easter Baskets

Look what the Easter Bunny left for me and Daddy!!!!! Cool!

Egg Hunt

Unfortunatly it was way to cold outside for us to take Edward to the Easter Egg hunt on Friday night, due mainly to the fact that they (the rec center) still choose to hold it outside in the freezy cold. So we took the eggs that we dyed Friday night and I filled 18 plastic ones, hid them while Kirk and Edward were gone to a movie. When they got home Edward went into the playroom and hunted the eggs. He had fun, but I still feel that bad that he wasn't able to go to an actual egg hunt. Didn't want to risk him getting ill from the freezing temps. I did have to laugh though, everytime he came across a plastic egg, he had to open it up to see what was inside before he would go on to hunt for another egg. All the candy is put up now and he has to go through me to get some. Trying to limit sugar and junk intake.
