Edward graduated from the Kindermusik program today. I must say I don't regret on bit the time or money we invested in this program for him. I know I hear a lot of parents say it is to expensive and not worth the time. I strongly disagree. You have to invest in your child for their sake, and I feel that this program benefits children in more ways that any parent who hasn't gone through the program can understand. Sometimes I think that even parents who have gone through the program don't fully understand 100% all the benefits that their child(ren) have gained from these classes and experience. If I was musically inclined I would teach these classes myself, that is how strongly I feel about them. I know that this will be something that will go with Edward all through his life. Of course a good teacher is a HUGE plus and we were blessed with great teachers pretty much through out our whole experience with the program.

Young Child 3

This is Edwards last year with Kindermusik. He has Young Child 3 right now, then at the beginning of the new year he will start Young Child 4. He will graduate from the program pretty much in May but he will be able to attend the summer camp in July (or whenever it is). We will be sad to be leaving Kindermusik. It is such a wonderful program. Next school year, he will begin taking piano (for 2 years) and then after that he wants to move on to Guitar. I am hoping that during his piano lessons, that I also pick it up and then we can keep the piano when he is through.

Kindermusik Young Child Session 2

Below are pictures of Edward playing his Glockenspiel in his Kindermusik YC session 2 class. The teacher has split the YC session 1 class into 2 groups...it just ended up being all the boys in one class and all the girls in the other. Edward has learned alot this session. He has been writing musical notes on his own. He knows what a staff is and a rest. He has learned to play the following notes on his glockenspiel A C D F. He can now play two songs, Bell Horses and Lucy Locket (the boys in this class have changed this song to Lyle Locket) . The boys get along well but as you can imagine are an active group even though there are just 3 of them. I must say that I am very pleased with Edwards progress and how well he is doing in this class.

The Glockenspiel

Edward got his glockenspiel this week in Kindermusik. He has one more class left in this session and then wont have classes again until Jan. We will be spending a little bit of each school day practicing it. All of the children were so excited to recieve their first real insturment and work together on leanring to play it. I will post some pictures in the near future of him playing it.

May I madame?

1 2 3 1, 1 2 3 2, 1 2 3 3..... Edward has been learning about Mozart and the period of time that he lived in, in Kindermusik class this past session. What I thought was really neat, is that part of what he was taught was how to dance the minuet. The moms and the children learned together, how to dance the entire minuet in 3 classes.

It's a bird.......

This is the Feathery Bird hat Edward and I made for Kindermusik class. Today in Kindermusik the kids were to be birds. They are learning about nature this semester. When the teacher asked him what kind of bird he was, he said he was a Robin.
One more Semester of Imagine that and then Edward promotes to the Young Child I program of Kindermusik. He will learn to play 3 different instruments.
Oh! Yes, there is something on Edward's nose. He fell last Thursday, he skinned his nose and forehead (it wasn't as bad and is already healed) while he was pushing a toy across our back sidewalk. Poor thing! We have been putting Mederma on it to help with any scarring.

Edward's Day

Today was Edward's first day Summer Bowling League. He has a team mate this session, which is great. Last 2 sessions he was the only one on his team. He scored a 73 his first game and a 69 his second game. He started off the very first frame of the session with a Strike. The 2 boys (Edward and his team mate, William) decided to name their team the Speedy Rollers. He also had his first day of his week long Kindermusik camp. He loved it. We go every morning this week, it is an early rise week for us. I am considering doing the Homeschooling Bowling League in the fall, William is homeschooled and they were a part of that league. She said it was great. They also had the cutest T-shirts for their league. That league is during the school year from Sept to April.
